SCHOOL HISTORY
Sibulan National High School was established on May 1970 through the municipal resolution by the Sangguniang Bayan. The Sangguniang Bayan then was headed by the late Honorable Attorney Ricardo D. Abiera who at that time was the Municipal Mayor of Sibulan.
With only 120 students for the first year and with only 5 classroom teachers, it started its first year of operation during the school year 1970 – 1971. Classes then were housed at Magsaysay Memorial School under the supervision of the elementary school principal. Then it was transferred within the Municipal Hall grounds under the supervision of a full time school head, Mrs. Carmelina D. Renacia. Enrollment continued to increase so do with the number of teachers. School buildings were constructed at the back of the Public Market to house the first and second year students.
The continued increased in enrollment urged the school head together with the PTCA officials to request from the Diocese of Dumaguete for a donation of an area located at the back of Sibulan Parish Church, because of this donated lot, the school became the first recipient of the SEDP package which comprises buildings, furniture, and laboratory equipment for Mathematics, Science and Practical Arts classes.
